Case Studies

During my university years, I tackled diverse design challenges, ranging from brand identities to creating impactful campaigns for social causes. Through these case studies, I honed my skills in crafting compelling narratives through design. Each project reflects my passion for blending creativity with purpose, always keeping the end user in mind. These experiences laid the foundation for the versatile, client-focused approach I bring to my work today.

CD Design

One of my favorite university projects was designing a groovy, beachy CD pamphlet that I curated from start to finish. I handpicked each song to create a cohesive vibe, then translated the music's tone into the visuals. Starting with simple sketches, I explored how to reflect the laid-back energy of the playlist. From there, I brought the designs to life using Adobe Illustrator for custom illustrations, Photoshop for adding vibrant effects, and InDesign for the final layout. The result was a colorful and cohesive design that captured the essence of the music and the carefree spirit of the beach.

Social Cause Image Manipulation

For this social issue case study I chose to focus on is the abuse and overwork female ballet dancers face, particularly the pressure to maintain extreme thinness, which often leads to eating disorders like anorexia and bulimia. As a former professional ballet dancer, I’ve witnessed firsthand the sacrifices and traumas dancers endure, from moving away young to navigating intense physical and emotional pressures. This project originates from one of Degas’ famous ballerina paintings, I manipulated this image to shed light on these struggles, making the image suitable for use in articles, books, or social media to spark awareness and conversation about this often-overlooked issue.

Abilities of Disabilities Poster

For my graphic design case study on disabilities in art, I created a poster titled "You Look Beautiful" that redefines traditional standards of beauty. The design features a minimalist yet impactful illustration of a prosthetic leg paired with an elegant high heel, symbolizing empowerment and resilience. The bold typography reinforces the message of self-confidence and challenges societal stereotypes. This project allowed me to explore how visual storytelling can be used to foster inclusivity and spark conversations about beauty, identity, and strength.

Word Project

For another project, I explored the concept of connection through the word "Intertwine." I transformed the letters into a piece of art, merging form and meaning to visually embody the idea of intertwining. The design used flowing, interlocked shapes that created a sense of movement and unity. This project emphasized my ability to blend typography and artistry, showcasing how text can evolve into a dynamic visual statement.
